Dear list members,
My name is Nils Kaiser, I completed my M.Sc. in Information Systems at
London School of Economics in October 2008 and am currently working as a
freelance Software Developer. I'm interested in underdoing a PhD in the
areas of Knowledge and Personal Information Management, Social Software
and Semantic Web.
I am fascinated by research projects like Nepomuk, Gnowsis or the
Haystack tools and the ways that Personal Information Management will
evolve by adopting emergent data models, semantic technologies,
information retrieval technologies to make sense of a user's information.
While I have high knowledge of software development languages and
methods, I'm not looking for a purely technical PhD, but would rather
like to study the use and adoption of technologies, for example by
undertaking ethnography or HCI oriented experiments.
Currently I am gathering information about running and forthcoming
international research projects, university departements or research
institutes offering PhD positions on a mid-term basis (preferably around
fall 2009). Due to my profile I am especially interested in projects
with international collaboration and involving also private / industrial
partners. I would thus be highly interested in any hints or contacts in
that direction, so don't hesite if you can provide me any information.
I appended a short profile below and would provide you with a full CV
upon interest.
Best regards,
Nils Kaiser
